2026 Special Edition Proof Silver Dollar 100th Anniversary of the Birth of Queen Elizabeth II

This 99.99 percent pure silver special-edition dollar marks the 100th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's birth by presenting a uniquely Canadian tribute: a representation of the Diamond Maple Leaf Brooch worn by Queen Elizabeth II as a symbol of her personal connection to Canada, accompanied by the Royal Cypher (top) that served as her personal device. A flourish of filigree crowns the noble leaf, symbolizing grace and heritage and includes 13 maple leaves (one for each province and territory) that lie nestled in the filigree's negative space—a subtle-but-profound tribute threaded through the artistry, much like Queen Elizabeth II's steadfast presence in Canada's story. The birthday tribute extends to the coin's obverse, which features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt—a fixture on Canada's coins from 2003 until 2023.

While the mintage of the regular 2026 proof silver dollar marking the anniversary of the Royal Canadian Legion has a mintage of 35,000, mintage of this special-edition coin is limited to just 17,500. Queen Elizabeth II was born on April 21, 1926, and acceded to the throne on February 6, 1952 upon the death of her father, King George VI. Her coronation was held on June 2, 1953.  Her Majesty ruled with grace and dignity for more than 70 years until her death on September 8, 2022.
