Product Overview
This scarce-date low-mintage 1947 Pointed 7 variety Canadian silver dollar is a rare coin that has survived in Choice Uncirculated condition. It has been authenticated and graded as MS-63 by the Canadian Coin Certification Service (CCCS), and comes protected in a tamper-proof holder. The coin is primarily brilliant and lustrous, and is also designated as the Pointed 7 variety, where the "7" in the date is pointed at the bottom, instead of blunt. This variety is significantly scarcer than the usual Blunt 7 variety. The coin is also designated as having a "doubled HP," which is a variety in which the initials of the engraver appear doubled.
As a Choice Uncirculated coin designated at MS-63, this coin in new condition as struck, with fewer than average "bag marks," Â which typically arise from coins coming in contact with each other both in the production process and when being shipped to banks in bulk canvas bags.
