2025 $50 The Goldfinch and Bloom Silver Coin

This 2025 Goldfinch and the Bloom $50 silver coin is the latest rendition of the Royal Canadian Mint’s innovation in interactive coins with moving elements. Past issues of coins using similar motion technology have sold out quickly from the mint and remain very popular collectibles today. Mintage is limited to just 1,250 coins.

This large format coin captures the light and colours of a summer day in an open field, where sunflower blooms tower above leaves dotted with raindrops. The 3D flower at the centre has attracted the attention of a seed-eating American goldfinch, which are both formed in yellow gold-plated sterling silver set atop a five ounce fine silver base. The coin shows off its magic when it is tipped or moved, causing the goldfinch to circle the bloom.

The obverse features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III by Canadian artist Steven Rosati.
