This version of AirPods 4 now has Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). Powered by the H2 chip and with upgraded microphones, ANC can help reduce low-frequency environmental noise, such as airplane engines, HVAC systems and city traffic, before it reaches your ears. Conversely, there's also Transparency mode, which provides the most natural way to hear the world around you, making it perfect for staying connected to your surroundings when you’re on a call or listening to music or podcasts. Adaptive Audio blends Transparency mode and ANC in real time, seamlessly tailoring noise control to your changing environment as you go about your day, and Conversation Awareness senses when you’re speaking to someone nearby and automatically lowers the volume of what’s playing, bringing it right back as soon as you’re done.
