The artistic and patriotic theme combines two of our most iconic national symbols: the maple leaf and the Canada goose. The coin itself is in the shape of a maple leaf, which forms a silhouette to frame artist Trevor Tennant's image of two Canada geese. The scene shows two geese feeding in shallow water of a pond or lake. A branch in the background doubles as the veins in the maple leaf, with the ripples in the water enhancing the leaf's texture.
The coin has a weight of just over half an ounce of fine silver, with a total necklace weight of 25.57 grams including the bezel and chain. The 18-inch chain has an extender loop so it can be worn either at an 16-inch length or at a 18-inch length.
