Product Overview

Each year on November 11, Canada pauses to honour all who serve or have served our country in times of war and peace, and this annual $20 fine silver Remembrance Day coin keeps that spirit of gratitude and remembrance alive year-round. The 2024 edition presents a stirring visual metaphor for the more than 2,300,000 who served in Canada's military throughout its history, including the more than 118,000 who ultimately gave their lives. Its reverse shows the red-petalled Flower of Remembrance in various stages of bloom, from the poppy that proudly stands tall as a symbol of those who serve or have served, to the drooping one that pays respect to our fallen—those who are gone, but whose sacrifices will not be forgotten.

Did you know?
The poppy has been Canada's Flower of Remembrance since 1921. During the First World War, bombardments disrupted the soil in Flanders and created favourable conditions for Papaver rhoeas to appear on the battlefields, as described in the poem "In Flanders Fields" by John McCrae of Guelph, Ontario. The poem was written in 1915 and later inspired the international campaign to make the poppy a symbol of remembrance.
