2024 $100 Cycle of Life 10-Ounce Fine Silver Coin

This large and visually impressive 2024 $100 fine silver coin is both a work of Canadian art and a premium quality low-mintage collectible. Enhanced with selective gold plating and a variety of frostings, the design re-creates an original cedar panel carved in Northwest Coast formline style, complete with engraved carving marks.

The design centres on an adult salmon rendered in a circular pattern so that the head is curved over the tail. The sense of movement extends to the twisting border that surrounds the salmon, which is depicted with child (centre right) to represent fertility, abundance and renewal. The coin serves as a beautifully crafted tribute to the natural cycles that sustain life, and to a species that is deeply connected to all living creatures on the Northwest Coast.

A printed insert is also included featuring a colour reproduction of the original art design and an explanation of the story behind the imagery. The selectively gold-plated obverse features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III by Canadian artist Steven Rosati.
