Whether displayed at your neckline (through the hidden bale) or gracing your lapel, this lavishly decorated multi-layered brooch/pendant is sure to have all eyes on you. It is hand fabricated in 18K gold, circa 1840 - 1860's, with a burnished round disc background surrounded by rope trim, providing the platform for the fancy floral design centre. A glorious 0.70 carat old mine-cut diamond punctuates the middle, embellished with looping scroll work and an intricate hand engraved square base with leaves that fold back, and accented with what remains of the black enamel tracery. This marvelous antique brooch is a beautiful example of the Victorian aesthetic. Please note: the black enamel has mostly worn off in places.
