• For small weeds, scrape around the base of the weed, removing it from the soil; gently pull on the stem and drag out the root with the blade tip, and remove below or at ground level
• To remove weeds with tap roots, place the blade behind the root crown (the thickest part of the root); add pressure to the blade on the soil around the weed until it digs directly underneath; pull the tool towards you while holding the stem to extract the weed whole
